Spend your honeymoon in the romantic Captain Harris Guest House -
Galena IL!
The Captain Harris Guest House is one of Galena Illinois' oldest homes
(c. 1836). It was built by Robert Scribe Harris, a steamboat captain
&
lead mine
owner.
The home has retained the character of the past, although modifications,
such as adding 50 leaded glass windows in the 1920's, have enhanced its
beauty.
The main area of the home has three bedrooms with private bath, queen
and twin beds and cable TV. The Honeymoon Cottage is private and romantic
with double whirlpool, fireplace, Cable TV/VCR, fridge, queen bed and
its own front porch. The Captain's Quarters is a 900 square foot suite
with its own private entrance and porch. It has a sitting room with fireplace,
Cable TV and double whirlpool in the lower level, a large bedroom with
queen size bed and Cable TV, large bath, and a fridge, coffee maker and
microwave.
The guest area has a large living room and library for guests to relax,
read or visit old or new friends.
A full formal breakfast is served in our beautiful dining room. Coffee
service is available in the early morning prior to breakfast.
Packages are avalable and include dinner, flowers, chocolates and locally
produced wine.
