Colleen is an Ordained Non-Denominational Interfaith Minister committed to helping you create a ceremony that reflects your love for one another.
Ceremonies are created to reflect your love for one another. Colleen is spiritual in nature yet very flexible in incorporating your desires as bride and groom into any variety of styles - religious, civil, non-denominational, interfaith, and spiritual. She will create the ceremony for you if you wish, or she will work with you to shape a ceremony that is distinctively yours - incorporating religious, sacred, ritual and traditional elements. |
Wedding ceremonies are to be inspirational to you as you promise your love to one another. Those who attend the service are given the gift of knowing the couple more” fully”. Hopefully, this will inspire them to enjoy their own relationships more completely. Your ceremony and vows will reflect the truth of who you are as individuals and as a couple. Colleen will assist you in the creation of a memorable celebration, and support you throughout the ceremony by maintaining a calm, confident presence.
Colleen's ceremonies can be performed in any venue: indoor, outdoor, chapels, vineyards, bed and breakfasts, etc. Services of all types are offered, from ceremonies including a rehearsal, to simpler ceremonies for just the two of you (Illinois does not require witnesses). Commitment Ceremonies, Vow Renewals and Reconnection Ceremonies are also available.
Reconnection Ceremonies - repairing vows - when a couple has had a division
in their marriage and feel as though they have neglected their original purpose
for having married but wish to once again find the love they once felt - this
ceremony offers forgiveness and the warmth of love beginning again in their
relationship. This is often a private ceremony(couple only) but can be done
with friends & family present. Reverend Colleen Helgerson performs weddings
in Galena Illinois and Dubuque Iowa areas.

... The first day we met Colleen both Jack and I knew she was
the one who could convey our love for each other, portray our sense of humor
and most of all express true emotion in her sermon. The ceremony is the
most important part of the day, and both Jack and I felt that Colleen did such
an amazing job and really pulled all the guests in and kept their attention
the whole time. Very rarely am I at a wedding where guests remember the ceremony
